Elevating Communication with Microsoft Teams Voicemail Migration
I just got some insider scoop on an upcoming migration that might affect a tiny fraction of us, including myself, using custom greetings for voicemail. Microsoft is on the ball with data protection, and part of that involves migrating our recorded custom greetings to a new storage spot. They've already moved 99.94% of our custom greetings seamlessly, which is pretty impressive.
Now, for the remaining 0.06% of us who haven't received any voicemail in over six months (I mean, kudos for having such an empty inbox, but let's not miss out on those heartfelt custom greetings), our recorded gems are still hanging out in the old location. But come May 2024, default greetings will be rolling in instead of our personalized ones.
Luckily, Microsoft has our backs. If you're like me and want to make sure your custom recorded greeting makes the migration, you can take a quick detour in March or April 2024. Just hop on Teams, head to Settings (you know, those three little dots in the upper right corner), then navigate to Calls and hit Configure Voicemail. From there, it's as easy as hitting the Record a Greeting button and selecting your preferred option. Voila! Your greeting will be on its way to the new storage spot faster than you can say "voicemail migration."
And hey, no need to stress about it if you're not in that 0.06% club. No action required from you, my friend. Just sit back, relax, and enjoy the peace of mind knowing that Microsoft is on top of things. If you're itching for more details or want to dive deeper into managing your Cloud Voicemail settings, they've got some handy resources over at Microsoft Learn.
Until then, here's to smooth migrations and personalized greetings that make our voicemail experience just a tad brighter!
